A Welcome from the P&C PresidentThe
P&C would like to welcome you to Ettalong Public School. We believe we have
one of the finest staffed schools in NSW and, along with the teachers; we invite
you to participate in the many programs and activities that support our
children’s primary learning years. EPS has a strong tradition of welcoming
parents and caregivers and of providing many opportunities to develop
partnerships in the education of our children.
This has proven over the years to create better learning outcomes for
students, as parents and caregivers have generously given their time and energy
to many school programs.
Some of the activities include classroom reading and a math program
“Count Me In”, where due to our unique “Little School House” program
where parents with toddlers are able to volunteer in the classroom while having
a break from their toddlers. There are many ways in which you can be involved in
your child’s education from one off activities such as attending or supporting
a fundraising event or working bee to upgrade the school grounds and gardens.
Whether you can give one day a year or one day a month volunteering in the
library, hosting class lunches, child minding, uniform store, craft or canteen,
the list goes on and on, providing endless opportunities to meet others and form
lifelong friendships. For those who are so inclined, participating in the
decision making of many aspects of your child’s education; liaising with local
MPs to gain more funds for public education; attending and representing the
school community at our own and district P&C meetings, can be a very
rewarding and satisfying experience, whilst also providing opportunities to
upgrade “return to work” skills for the future.
We hope YOU will be one of the many new faces we see and have the
pleasure of meeting throughout the school year. A final thought on
school life. Teachers are people also.
They are caring everyday for our greatest treasures, our children.
Smiling costs nothing and can be quite infectious. Remember to smile and say
thank you occasionally.
Helping to create and foster a positive infectious atmosphere at Ettalong
Public School, can be made more effective with a smile or a thank you.
